Symptoms – am I afflicted?

Outlined below are some of the signs and symptoms that one may experience under an affliction. It is by no means and exhaustive list and symptoms will vary with individuals and their circumstances. One of the best ways of determining problems is to listen to Ruqyah audio in a quiet place, to gauge if your body reacts in any way or you feel any unease or discomfort. For some individuals they may need to listen to the audio more than once to sense any type of reaction.



  • Interrupted sleep and/or frequent nightmares
  • Waking up suddenly in fear or in cold sweat
  • Dreaming of the deceased, graveyards or other filthy places
  • Dreaming of flying, falling from heights, being chased, attacked or killed.
  • Dreaming of naked people, seeing yourself naked, defecating, or in other undesirable situations
  • Dreaming of animals, reptiles (snakes, scorpions, dogs , lions, ) It is common to dream that they are attacking you.
  • Dreaming of being raped
  • Convulsions and epileptic attacks
  • Sleep Paralysis (the feeling that you are paralysed and unable to get up)
  • Feeling a pressure on chest and/or head when sleeping
  • Speaking loudly, mumbling or groaning in ones sleep
  • Sleep walking



  • Withdrawing from acts of worship and remembrance of Allah swt
  • Social withdrawal – an abnormal desire and liking to be alone
  • Unexplained bruising on the body
  • Feeling of tightness or heaviness in the chest
  • Severe headaches, migraines
  • Chronic fatigue, lethargy and/or laziness
  • Extreme hunger or loss of appetite
  • Dry mouth and or infection in the mouth
  • Unexplained itching, skin irritation or acne
  • Shoulder pain, back pain
  • Excessive sweating
  • Excessive Hair loss
  • Bloating of the stomach, cramps, digestive problems and or ulcers
  • Face complexion changes (becomes abnormally pale or dark)
  • Convulsions /epileptic attacks
  • Substance abuse
  • Foul body odour even after washing
  • Palpitations (irregular heartbeat)
  • Fluctuations in body temperature (e.g. always feeling cold or hot)
  • Feeling of pins and needles
  • Spending lengthy times in the bathroom/ excessive urination
  • Irregular and/or extremely painful menstrual cycles, problems with conceiving and other gynaecological problems
  • Impotency, premature ejaculation and other male related issues
  • Excessive burping and/ or yawning
  • Unexplained urges to cry or laugh for no reason
  • Tightness around body parts
  • Illnesses or symptoms which remain unexplained or undiagnosed by mainstream medical examinations


  • Constant conflicts, fights or quarrels arising for no reason
  • Relationship issues – unnecessary disputes with spouse, children, or parents.
  • Difficulty in getting married, despite no obvious reasons
  • A general dislike for people
  • Sudden unexplained and severe dislike for one’s spouse
  • Blocked income & financial prospects
  • Inability to focus on work, studies etc.


  • Hallucinations and delusions
  • Hearing voices/ whispers (waswasah)
  • Seeing shadows/ paranormal activity
  • Thinking someone is always watching you/ something or someone is constantly trying to hurt you
  • Memory loss
  • Difficulty concentrating and loss of mental clarity
  • Depression, anxiety and hopelessness
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Feelings of guilt
  • Sudden onset of apathy or disinterest in life
  • Excessive mood swings and personality disorders
  • Intense fear
